Calling all female drivers

THURSDAY 9 AUGUST 2012

7PM – 9PM

NOW FULLY BOOKED

Women in Berkhamsted and surrounding areas are being invited to a special event being held at the local car dealership Roy Chapman Ford, to help increase confidence and safety behind the wheel.

The free event is being held in partnership with the Tring and Berkhamsted Safer Neighbourhood Teams and the car dealership Roy Chapman Ford on Thursday, August 9, between 7pm and 9pm.

PCSO Emma Lennox, from the Tring Safer Neighbourhood Team, will be sharing her top safety tips on areas such as preparing for a safe journey, driving skills, personal safety, driving on motorways, what to do in the event of a breakdown, winter driving and lots more.

Technicians from Roy Chapman Ford will be giving a practical workshop demonstration about basic car maintenance and ensuring your car is safe on the roads. There’ll also be the opportunity to win a free car service.

PCSO Emma Lennox said: “This promises to be a really useful event which will provide women with a whole host of knowledge and skills to ensure they are safe when out and about on the roads. I’d encourage people to book a place – it’ll be very informal and a fun evening!”

Jeremy Chapman, Director at Roy Chapman Ford, said: “It’s really important to us that we look after all our customers.  Our Ladies Evening is free to anyone who wishes to learn more about looking after their car between services and to increase their knowledge of staying safe on the roads. Judging by the response we’ve already received, we’re expecting a lot of interest in this workshop.”
